Board Changes
Lotus Resources Plc, ('Lotus' or 'the Company'), a company engaged in the development of mining and exploration projects in Mongolia, announces the appointment of Dr Peter McNeill to the Board of Lotus as a Non Executive Director.
Peter McNeill, MA, DPhil, FIBC, CMC, is Principal of The London Group, an economics and management consultancy. Since 1990, a focus of the Group's activities has been rural development and policy in countries in economic transition, including the People's Republic of China, the countries of the former Soviet Union and Mongolia. Since leading one of the first international missions to Mongolia in 1992, following the dissolution of the Soviet Union, Peter McNeill has taken a particular interest in Mongolia and continues frequently to undertake assignments there.
His international consultancy experience includes government policy and corporate planning in a variety of sectors and commercial clients have ranged in size from major multinationals to SMEs. Peter McNeill has not held any directorships during the past five years.
The Board of Lotus Resources considers that Peter McNeill's extensive knowledge of Mongolia and his wide network of contacts in the Mongolian Government and business community will be invaluable as the Company develops its business interests there.
The Board of Directors also announces the resignation of Dr Ian Wang as a Non Executive Director of the Company due to his other business commitments. The Board would like to thank Dr Ian Wang for his significant contribution to the development of the Company, his support over a number of years and to wish him well with his ongoing interests.
Peter McNeill holds 166,667 shares in the Company.
Following these changes to the Board, the Directors will hold a total of 6,928,268 shares in the Company representing 12.32% of the issued share capital of the Company.
